Times is hard. Diversify your bonds.

And now...for a classic.

That's all for now kids, stop protesting the new facebook and start cutting coupons. It might be a cold winter...

In case you didn't know Will Smith might be a Scientologist.

Will Smith says that he isn't a Scientologist

But the press is claiming that he is

Will Smith denies it again

The L.A. Times doesn't know what to make of it.

Then there is that pesky private school that is funded by Will Smith and just might teach Scientology....

But once again Will Smith denies it

I don't know. Is Will Smith a Scientologist? Is he just tight with the Scientologist crowd (aka Tom Cruise and lots of hollywood)? Like a straight guy who has gay friends and dresses well?

Is this a Fox News Conspiracy since Will Smith is now THE BIGGEST STAR IN HOLLYWOOD and he is B-L-A-C-K?

I just don't know.

All I know is that I do not understand scientology.

The whole religion seems outlandish, and silly, and like something you would read out of a science fiction book...whoops.

I also don't approve of the group Anonymous who attacks Scientology (and minorities). They remind me a lot of the Ku Klux Klan.

(I actually have two pretty funny Klan stories, here is one of them: One time I was driving a van of black people through the South (Alabama) to get to a conference. It was around 11:30 p.m. and we were on Empty and I had just taken a wrong turn. Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere Alabama at night with a car full of young black men was not my idea of a good time. So I turned the car around and as I was backing up someone noticed a historical marker. We stopped the car to see whose marker we had found...and it was a marker to the founder of the Klan. On top of the marker there flew a beautiful Confederate flag. And then a voice shouted "Hey Nigger!" and a group of hooded white men with guns swarmed from the hills... jk. Actually we just got scared as hell, got the fuck out of there, and wouldn't stop for gas for 50 miles.)

If you are a Scientologist, Will Smith, Tom Cruise, part of Anonymous, or have an opinion on this issue please leave a comment.

I am really confused about all of this.

It's not often that Will Smith is out of control. Smith has played characters from the ultra-cool "Fresh Prince" to the hip alien fighter in MIB and MIIB and Independence Day and kind of, A.I. and Wild Wild West...and they are always in control. Granted, there are those scenes where a co-star might need to come lend a hand to get him out of a bind, but Smith has always played the man that you can count on. And he's always done it with that air of sanitary, child-friendy humor.

But with movies like Pursuit of Happyness and I Am Legend showing a more complicated Smith who has had to wrestle with inner demons and outer perils, the stage was set for a new brand of Smith character in his latest blockbuster, Hancock.

From the opening scene, we see that Smith is no longer that clean-shaven, on top of things guy...but is a homeless drunk. With an attitude. What? Will Smith drinks? And curses?

Well, yeah. And then as the movie progresses, we see that out of the three principal characters (the other two played by Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman) Smith is probably the most out of control. And unlike most of his other characters, even Smith's insane powers cannot spark a period of self-change and reform. He needs everyone else.

This movie is hard to talk about without spoiling too much of it, but I will say that this movie certainly is another small breakthrough for Will Smith in finding yet another character...and the movie is a pretty unique take on superheroes in this Batman/Hulk/Spiderman/Ironman era.
